Neurodiversity-Informed Culturally Equitable (NICE) Healthcare Curriculum
Neurodiversity-Informed, Culturally Equitable (NICE) Healthcare training is an online, self-paced training for healthcare providers across mental health and primary care settings. It is a comprehensive, evidence-based training comprised of short 10-minute videos, quizzes, and resources designed to strengthen provider knowledge, confidence, and self-efficacy.
Co-developed with neurodivergent individuals and experienced providers, NICE Healthcare is grounded in principles of neurodiversity-informed healthcare derived from community and expert consensus, translating empathy, cultural responsiveness, and collaboration into practical clinical strategies.
Across the modules, the training covers essential topics including affirming communication, emotional regulation differences, sensory accommodations, and trauma-informed, culturally responsive care.
Most modules use vignette-based case studies to contrast non-NICE care with NICE care, demonstrating how small, intentional changes can build trust and improve patient outcomes. Each scenario is animated in collaboration with Danimation and narrated by the neurodivergent community.
